Aviation Emissions – A Wider Perspective
Aviation is one of the fastest growing sources of greenhouse gas (‘GHG’) emissions and the most climate-intensive form of transport. Aviation emissions have more than doubled in the last 20 years and the sector is responsible for an estimated 4.9% of man-made global warming. Whilst the aviation industry recognises its environmental responsibility and is taking steps to address emissions, net CO2 emissions produce by aircraft continue to increase as other industries decarbonise. This brings particular focus upon the aviation industry and its stakeholders.
Climate change has become a serious political and social issue creating new risk paradigms. AVOCET’s business enables aircraft operators and owners to identify, quantify and mitigate the risks to their businesses arising from their environmental, regulatory and legal obligations.
AVOCET has been providing aviation emissions compliance services since 2009. Our deep understanding and experience in this sector enable us to provide a suite of services that meets the needs of operators and owners under ICAO’s Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (‘CORSIA’) and the European Union’s Emissions Trading System (‘EU ETS’).
